Business Affairs Technician / Bookkeeper

Job Description:

The right candidate is seeking a key long term position in a pleasant environment using the latest technology. Essential Skills Hiring Criteria:

  1. Excellent oral, written communication and customer service skills.
  2. High degree of attention to detail and follow through.
  3. Able to identify critical information.
  4. Must be a neat, effective organizer able to prioritize tasks.
  5. Able to self motivate, multitask, learn quickly and be a team player.
  6. Proficient with Windows computers, fax, scanner and 10-key device required.
  7. Must be proficient with bookkeeping, spreadsheet and other office software.
  8. Strong Quickbooks or Peachtree Accounting software skills required.
  9. Ability to create and update marketing materials a plus.
  10. Ability to research & prepare sales proposals a plus.
  11. Basic experience with MS Expression, Visual Studio or other HTML editors a plus.

Opportunities to perform the following:

  1. Able to comprehend and accurately enter data from completed invoices.
  2. Perform accounts receivable/payable duties such as processing payments and creating bank deposits. Organize company bills and payments.
  3. Monthly reconciliations, data entry after the fact, etc.
  4. Properly filing invoices, receipts and other business documents.
  5. Able to audit/reconcile and confirm accuracy of monthly statements. Prepare statements for mailing to customers.
  6. Able to effectively communicate with customers and vendors regarding account issues.
  7. Assist with promotional ideas and materials using appropriate software.
  8. Answer multi line phone in a polite and professional manner. Capable of taking concise and legible messages.
  9. Basic skills updating web page content a plus.
  10. Basic skills troubleshooting Windows desktop problems a plus.
  11. Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  1. Educational requirements. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  2. Formal training in Business Office Administration preferred
  3. Associate degree in Business Office Administration highly preferred
  4. Experience requirements:
    1. Three years working with small business accounting software and spreadsheets.
    2. Possess specific bookkeeping, HR, and office admin skills.
  5. A pre-employment confidentiality and non compete agreement is required.
